Somerset Relaunch
(LONDON, 11 July 2023) Montigo Resorts, Somerset, at Charlton House has opened in the idyllic market town of Shepton Mallet, in the Mendip District of Somerset, England. Moments away from the rolling hills of Frome, Wells and Glastonbury, the hotel is a discreet country retreat, with a relaxed, informal vibe. The opening ceremony is graced by the Rt Hon James Heappey, Minister of State for the Armed Forces and MP for Wells, Mr Mayor of Wells, Cllr Tanys Pullin, Mayor of Glastonbury, Cllr Indra Donfrancesco, and Chairman of The Street Parish Council, Cllr Bryan Knickerbocker.
London Acquisition
(LONDON, 5 June 2023) – Singaporean investor, KOP Group, has acquired Burns Hotel, a 105-key hotel located within the Royal Borough of Kensington & Chelsea in London, off a guide price of £35m. The purchase through Knight Frank was completed on 30 May 2023. This is the second hotel the Group has purchased this year following their acquisition of Charlton House Hotel & Spa in Somerset via its public vehicle, KOP Limited. The Group will officially launch its Grade II listed, 28-room English country house in Somerset in summer 2023.
Somerset Acquisition
(SINGAPORE, 6 March 2023) – Catalist-listed KOP Limited, together with its subsidiaries, announced that on 28 February 2023, its indirect, wholly owned subsidiary company, KOP Properties (UK) Limited, has entered into a purchase agreement with Bannatyne Hotels Limited for the acquisition of the business including certain of its assets relating to the Charlton House Hotel and Spa. The acquisition includes the operations of a hotel, private members’ health and fitness club, beauty spa, restaurant, function rooms and wedding venue which have been carried on at Charlton House Hotel and Spa. The hotel is located at Charlton Road, Shepton Mallet, Somerset, BA4 4PR.
